Get started as an individual

From download to your first document, all in the desktop app.

The Individual plan is free, needs no card and runs entirely in the desktop app. Follow the steps below to go from install to an exported document.

1

Download and install the desktop app

Get the installer from fusedframes.com/downloads. The app runs on macOS 12 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel) and 64-bit Windows 10 or later. There is no Linux build.

2

Create your account and sign in

Open the app and choose Sign up, or Log in if you already have an account. Your browser opens so you can enter a 6-digit code sent to your email; new accounts also give a name and pick a plan, and Individual is free. The browser then sends you straight back to the app, signed in.

3

Grant permissions on macOS

macOS asks for two permissions. Choose Enable on the Enable accessibility step, then on Enable screen recording, which ends with Restart app because macOS only grants screen recording to a freshly started app. Windows has no permission steps.

4

Record a task

Choose Start recording from the menu bar icon (the tray on Windows) or turn on the switch on the Recordings page, do the task as you normally would, then choose Stop recording. A recording captures clicks, typed text, copy and paste, app and window names and small captures of the screen around the cursor. It never captures passwords, card numbers or API keys, and sensitive values are stripped on your device before anything is uploaded.

5

Answer the recording's questions

When a recording holds a decision the steps alone cannot explain, a question card appears over your screen. Type an answer or hold the talk button to speak it. You can also answer later on the recording's detail page.

6

Create a document library

Choose Documents in the sidebar, then select Create library to start your first document library. In the Sources card, turn on Include all recordings or add at least one filter to choose which recordings feed the library. The Default template suits most libraries; a library's template cannot be changed after you select Create.

7

Write documents

Open the library and select Write documents. The writing mode you chose decides how recordings become documents: Automatic writes from every matching recording, Review waits for your approval in the Review queue tab and Off pauses writing. Writing spends AI credit, and the Individual plan includes $5 of AI usage every month.

8

Read, edit and export

Finished documents appear in the library's Documents tab. Open one to read it, change any field by hand and select Save on that section's card. To use documents elsewhere, choose Exports, then Documents, in the sidebar and export them as JSON, CSV, XLSX or PDF.

After your first document

Key concepts explains each object you just used in more depth. The desktop app also covers usage and billing on the Individual plan: the Usage page shows your AI credit balance and is where you buy more, and the Billing and Invoices pages manage your card and receipts.
