What do I need to install the desktop app?

An Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS Sonoma 14.0 or later, around 1.6 GB of free disk space and an active internet connection.

What is the connection key the app asks for?

A one-time code that pairs your Mac with your FusedFrames account. Sign up in the web app, go to the Connections page, create a new connection and you'll get a connection key. Open the desktop app, paste it in and the device appears in your team. The key can only be used once and is not shown again after creation.

What does the desktop app actually capture?

Accepted Answer

Clicks, keystrokes, copy and paste, drag and drop, selected text, app and window names and screen regions. It does not capture passwords, credit card numbers, API keys, microphone audio or webcam video. Sensitive content is removed on the device before anything leaves it.

What macOS permissions does the desktop app need?

Accepted Answer

Two permissions, both granted through System Settings under Privacy and Security: Accessibility and Screen Recording. You are prompted to grant them during onboarding. Without both granted the app cannot record actions.

Will it slow down my Mac?

Accepted Answer

A local AI model runs on your device alongside the app to describe what you click. Most users do not notice it is running. The app is designed to sit in the background and stay out of your way.

Can I stop capture during sensitive work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Right-click the FusedFrames icon in your menu bar and choose End capture. Choose Start capture when you want it back on. While paused, nothing is recorded.

Question 7

Do I need the CLI as well as the desktop app?

Accepted Answer

Only if you want to query patterns from a terminal or pipe them into a coding agent like Claude Code or Cursor. The CLI is a separate npm package that returns JSON. The desktop app on its own is enough to capture, distill and use FusedFrames through the web dashboard.

How do I disconnect or remove the desktop app?

Accepted Answer

Open the app from the menu bar, go to settings and choose Disconnect. The app uploads any pending actions, revokes the session and clears all local data before it stops running.
