What do I need to run the desktop app?

On macOS, any Apple silicon or Intel Mac running macOS 13.2 Ventura or later. On Windows, an ARM64 or x64 PC running Windows 10 or later. You also need an active internet connection, because recordings are processed in the cloud rather than on your machine.

What is the pairing key the app asks for?

Accepted Answer

A one-time code that connects a computer to a Team or Enterprise workspace; on Individual you simply sign in and no key is involved. Create a workspace at fusedframes.com, add a pairing link device on the Devices page and you get a pairing key. Paste it into the desktop app and the device appears in your workspace. Each key works once and is never shown again.

What does the desktop app actually capture?

Accepted Answer

It records clicks, keystrokes, copy and paste, drag and drop, selected text, app and window names and small captures of parts of the screen. It does not record passwords, card numbers, API keys or webcam video, and the microphone is only used while you hold the talk button to answer a question. Sensitive content is stripped on your device before anything leaves it.

What permissions does it need on macOS?

Two: Accessibility and Screen Recording, both granted in System Settings under Privacy and Security. Setup walks you through them, and without both the app cannot record. Windows needs no special permissions.

Will it slow my computer down?

Accepted Answer

No. Recording uses the accessibility and screen-recording features your operating system already provides, and the heavy AI work happens in the cloud rather than on your machine. The app sits quietly in your menu bar or system tray and stays out of the way.

Can I pause recording during sensitive work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Right-click the FusedFrames icon in your menu bar or system tray and choose Stop recording, then Start recording when you are done. While recording is off, nothing is captured.

Question 7

Do I need the CLI as well as the desktop app?

Accepted Answer

Only if you want to read documents from a terminal or feed them to a coding agent like Claude Code or Cursor. Install it with npm as @fusedframes/cli, which needs Node.js 20 or later. Or download a ready-to-run program from GitHub that needs nothing else installed. The desktop app alone is enough to record your work and read the documents it writes.

How do I remove the app from a machine?

Accepted Answer

Open it from the menu bar or system tray, go to settings and choose Disconnect. The app uploads any waiting recordings, signs itself out and deletes its local data before it stops. You can also archive the device from the dashboard so it stops being billed.
